Message: Why do I need a new belt every four months? WTF? I've had the belt replaced several times, and it just starts to squeak like crazy a few months later. Last time, I had the alternator and a loose pulley replaced in December. It's April now, and the squeaking came back, despite the fact that I thought I had fixed the problem. WTF. Why is my truck chewing through belts like crazy? Oh, I also had a new belt tensioner installed. plain

Message: Hey , you should check the alignment of your pulley's. use a staight edge, put it flat against one pulley and then see how much of a gap there is at the next pulley. there should not be more than 1mm of gap for every 20cm in distance between pulleys. ( about 1/16" for every 8" ) if the alignment is good then you probably have a pulley that is worn out, with new belt, the belt rides higher in the grooves, once it has worn in a bit the belt bottoms out and looses grip on the pulley causing squealing
