Subject: push ignition upgrade for Dakota R/T IP: Logged
Message: I am currently investigating how to install a push button SRT10 ignition into my 2000 R/T.
Or even if that is possible. If anyone has heard of this I would be most thankful for any info availible.

Message: It's not that difficult. The push button is just an extra momentary switch to operate the starter motor. You turn the key to the "run" position, then push the button. No magic there. Isolate the starter wire from your stock ignition switch, and hook it up to the new button.
The switches are available from a variety of sources. The Honda S2000 is a popular donor for some reason. You can also get them from Summit and Moroso.

Message: I've heard about people doing this but don't have the slightest idea why. If you really want to be retro put the starter button on the floor just above where your left foot is resting. I'm sure someone still makes these foot operated starter switches.
