Subject: Rear brake pad size IP: Logged
Message: Is there a way (other than pulling the drum off) to tell if my 98 5.2 SLT has 10" or 9" pads? I would like to grab the pads before I start.

Message: check the drum. max diameter of the drum is stamped on there. if i had to guess if you have an RC it would be 9" and a CC would have 10" if there were any diff in that year.

Message: Sometimes the max diameter (in mm.) is stamped on the outside of the drum. Divide this number by 25.4 and you have your size in inches. That's how my OEM drums where marked, and were visible through the wheel spokes.
Mine were 11" by the way.

Message: Thanks fellas. It is a CC but in the pad listings there are Performance-Standard cat's - 10.5"-9.5" respectfully. I will check the drum and see what is there.
Is there a way to check on stuff like this maybe through VIN?
