i think 4.7 is already aluminum heads. and many people tell me NO, TB spacers are waste of money...they do not show and HP/trq gains....(speedtweaks.com has a blurp on TB spacers under the tricks and tips page)

Message: Marty, what year dak to you have. If its 2001+ then u already have the 68mm. (at least you should) KRC Performance is supposedly also working on a high perf cam. I had heard someone mention not to count on the cams coming out from Hughes, but it was one guy talking and who knows where he gets, or makes up, his info. The intake manifold on the HO is the same. (at least i've never heard any different) The stock heads are aluminum. Supposedly there is SLIGHT improvement with the TB spacer on the 4.7L. There is none with the other engines. And noone that i know of makes an aftermarket y-pipe. hope the info helps

Message: X i dunno who the hell it was. some guy did a post sayin "don't count on the cams from hughes.. they've got alot goin on and the markets not too big for the 4.7's" i don't think that holds any water.. well, at least i hope not. speaking of intake manifold..
"On the 4.7 engine, if you remove the throttle body from the intake manifold, you will find a flat chunk of plastic flashing that hangs down into the opening at the top of the manifold. Cut that flashing back smooth with the top edge of the manifold. Just make sure you don't lose any of the plastic to the inside of the manifold."
does that do anything? i saw that on a thread awhile ago.. copied and pasted, but didn't get who wrote it.

Message: The production of aftermarket 4.7 parts will only increase from now on. Now that the engine is in the Dakotas, Durangos, Jeeps and Rams.... the numbers of people looking for parts is skyrocketing! Who knows how many more vehicles this engine will end up in?

Message: I sell the F&B TBs... checkout my site www.socaldakota.com
I do work for F&B too... The 70mm works real good on a slightly modded truck (and anything else you do will only improve). The TBs are absolute work of art!!! Dyno proven. You won't be disappointed.

Message: Cutting something of in the manifold wouldnt be difficult, just tape the inside past the manifold and hold or tape a vacuum on the hole. That way when you cut, you suck the old parts out and all the dust along with it.
So do you think cutting this piece out would make some power?

Message: 4.7 HP is 230-235, depending on model year; 260 for GenIV HO. Since the quad cab weighs around 4500 pounds, a best first step is 3:92 gears in the rear end. Do mods with an eye to maximum torque.
