Fox, it's actually a decent fit. Just close to the fire wall because the motor is pretty darn long.

Seems like you all have forgotten a few things. If you have a 3.9 or 5.2 that is worth investing $5000 in, it is like worth at least as much as a used 5.9. Given that, buy the 5.9, take your time building it and then swap engines. You then sell the original engine for about the same as you paid for the 5.9. Don't forget, you also had the luxury of using your truck while rebuilding that 5.9.
Of course if the plan is to put $5000 in forced induction that may be a different story.

Message: Simple, if you prefer to go the supercharger route, it is less work than buying, building and installing a 5.9. In other words, it's an alternative. There is no secret or hidden meaning.

Did you miss the part where I said this
".there are ALWAYS exceptions.
Sure one could then turn around and sell the stock motor (4.7 or 5.2) to offset the cost of the 5.9 so your not in the hole that much." ?
Sorry, throw the 3.7ltr in there, forgot it.

As long as you add a disclaimer, you will never be wrong or get an argument from anyone.
