Subject: output driver not respnding IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 with the 4.7L and my engine light came on, I got the code 206 injector #6 output driver does not respond to the control signal. I was woundering where the control singnal is, and where the output driver is, and what I could do to fix the problem. Any help would be good. Thanks

Message: The fuel injectors get supplied 12 volts. The fuel injector is actuated by the processor. what the processor does is grounds the other wire from the injector which lets the 12 volts flow through the injector in return opening it up allowing the fuel to spray. Your problem is it might be a bad injector coil, an open return wire from the injector to the processor or a bad injector driver in the pcm. I first would ohm out the wire from the injector to the processor. It sounds like an open wire.

Message: Thanks alot gizmodog, i'll give it a try do you think it's ok to drive with this porblem. I need to go to work and have no time to try the fix. It dosen't seem to be missing or anything. Your info would be great.

Message: Oh it does rev up when i start it but idles normaly right away it goes up to 2000 but goes down to 700. Thanks
