Subject: Dyno Results: R/T IP: Logged
Message: OK so I got my Truck dynoed today up in Manchester, CT.
Silver 2001 CC R/T 5.9L V8, LSD 3.92
Right now I have the K&N FIPK, and a 50mm ported TB, 40 series flowmaster muffler,
Dyno #1, Max power: 200.5 Max Torque:281.8
(Mind you this was at 20 degrees F,)
Then programed the Superchips Max Micro Tuner to the performance setting, raised the top speed and rpm limiter, and has 93 octane. And ran it agian,
Final Numbers Max Power: 213.2 Max Torque:299.7
THere was one more run in the middle which was three horsepower less and 1 torque less. But i just have to allow the truck to get used to the new performance settings from the superchips.
THe gains will go up in time, These gains are from to the REAR WHEELS.
Sorry for got to add i changed the spark plugs to Autolites.
THe truck was also running to rich on the first Dyno , but when i programed the superchips and the second dyno showed the air/fuel fixed and went lower, so its running smother now.

Message: now this is cool, my 4.7 5spd manual, dynoed above this, at a higher temp also, with a 1.2L smaller motor.
I slaughtered your max gains, w/o even using my SC tuner. And yes, I have the DC Ho cams, dc ho intake, and no third cat on a stock exhaust.
With my tuner, the max gains were 8hp and 12 tqon 93 octane, perf setting.

Message: So at 20 deg ambient temp 13 hp gain, then at 80 deg about 7 hp gain. See the air is denser when it is cooler, has more oxygen per cubic foot, so performance levels are higher. Warmer temps air is expanded and has less oxygen per cubic foot. 'Bought right for a tuner or flash. Enjoy.

Message: Doesn't your truck have a HO cams and intake, and a 5speed? If his truck had a 5 speed he would've put out around 225 to the wheels. Do you know what his numbers would be with an M1. Not to mention a cam.

Message: Yes dude,
My little ol 287, with the grocery getting, soccer mom Jeep HO intake and cam, still puts out some nice #'s. As far as the manual tranny, I never would have bought a dak unless I could have ordered a v 8 and a manual tranny, LSD, etc.
Hey, I just made a funny, 'soccer mom cam'!

Message: No it doesnt have the HO cams and intake because its not a 4.7L my truck is a 5.9L and they come 4 speed with OD and the dyno was done in 3rd gear with the over drive off. I'm getting the M1 Intake in the spring and a shift kit. the M1 will really help me out.

Message: THey charge $100 bucks for 3 pulls on the dynojet, and if you want anything done to the truck just set something up before hand and they'll do it. The hourly charge for work is a little pricey $80. but they only charge for the dyno if thats all your getting.

Message: dude,
It's $50 for 3 pulls, and you have plenty of time between for programming, etc. It's G-Force, Pearland, Texas, right near Friendswood. Did you see the graphs posted on the performance board?

Message: Sorry Texas Todd, I dont live in texas so couldn't go to that place, But the next time i'm dynoing will be either in Bristol, CT , or at UTI The tech school i'm going to.
Joey the Bristol Dyno i'm not to sure how to get there but there just as good and they only charge $60 bucks for 3 pulls and they will give you as much time as you need to tune your truck.
