Message: Last night i was riding around with mike, and we saw a single Cab 5 speed 4.7L kota, so we stoped and talked to the guy. he seemed more intrested in Mikes 5.2L I didnt really get to talk to the guy much, but he clames the he has been able to take a extended cab R/T off the line, and on a role.
We started talking about track time, mikes got the 15.3 in a 1/4, the guy said that the only time he ran it at the track he got a 15.8, and I didnt tell him about my track time 16.1 1/4
His truck was "lightly modded"
FIPK Gen II K&N CAI, single in, dule out with turn downs. His tires were 275/35/20s, i guess the 20's slowed him down alot. And he has 3.55 with an open Diff
Mike and the guy got to race, and they did two 10 mph rolls and both times Mike had him at more than a truck length in front of him. The guy knew how to shift but he didnt speed shift. He started pulling back at 80 or so but they both let off and the guy didnt seem to happy!
Well after that race, i wanted to see how bad i would lose. Well the light turned green, and we went. Sad to say that he smoked the everliving piss out of his right tire, while is was falling behind, he did start pulling back arond low 3rd gear, but when i got to hight 3rd gear he stoped pulling, and we stayed about the same distance (i could see his truck in my driver side mirror) all the way to about 100mph or so.
And I know that their will be alot of peole that are saying that this is a BULL story, but you have to also consider that i have 3.92 and sure girp. And that if he would have griped off the line then I would be posting another story than this one.

Message: But I wouldn't consider the track time of some trash talking bozo who can't speed shift as representative of what that truck is capable of. I like the 4.7, but I know one with 3.55s isn't going to beat an R/T. When a couple of jokers race each other, the results don't mean much.

Message: Kinda sad, really. I was there and I saw him race Jeremy and he kicked that guys azz. Yes the guy "KNEW HOW TO SHIFT". But my guess is that he was shifting to early!!! Before we ran our trucks he said that his powerband drops alot after 5k rpms. I guessing thats were he shifts?? Isnt the 4.7 a higher reving motor and maybe shifts at around 5.5K rpms?
By the way Jeremys truck is quick even compared to a 4.7. The only way for jeremy to find out if he did any good on that race is to race a 4.7 auto maybe with 3.55 LSD.
I dont know why some of you rag on him because he has a V6. He comes over here because the people over on the V6 board are dumb except for a few like Larry and some others.
I cleaned that guys clock when I raced him. Kinda funny too I pulled on him in first gear and second...gear for gear not even shifting. Those 20s make a difference. The track times on the new hemi is .3 seconds difference when you have the 17s and a slightly smaller tire.

Message: If that 3.7 runs 16's, that's pretty damn good!
Close enough (obviously) to make driver error decide the winner/loser!
3.92's and all could be making it fairly responsive.
Race uphill or with a trailer... now THAT would then demonstrate the power difference :-)

Message: For one, I support Jeremy04/3.7, not because I have a 3.7, but me and my pal took 2 runs and I came up on top. Both were close, which are the best, he started to gain at the end of the road so we backed it up further to give more way to see if he would over take me and again he started to gain again, but by that time I was approaching peak hp so I started to move away from him.

This new V6 is a great motor and I thank Dodge for it, but it could have came sooner so that we would have a bit of aftermarket part by now. So you can bash me and be in doubt about my story, I truly don't care. Im just supporting Jeremy and Mike story.

Message: I'm still wondering where all these B/A 3.7Ls reside. Impress me down here in Texas; I want to see one of these hombres run. I know ya'll keep bragging on them (makes me think ya'll are from Texas), but I haven't seen any around this area that didn't have a woman at the wheel. Maybe it's reserved as a womans package by Dodge, just to keep them safe from power. I just can't see how one can be stronger and faster than a 4.7L since it is just 3/4 of the same engine. Later Ladies, enjoy your MASSIVE Motors.

Message: Actually we are from Texas...What of it????
Just because some of you dont believe the story doesnt mean that by raggin on us is going to do any good.
Yes I do believe in a way that shifting too early maybe a result of "not knowing how to shift" BUT..I didnt ask him so the story gets thrown up. What I meant by him knowing how to shift is how fast he shifted the truck not if he knew how to drive it or not.
Let me list you some vehicles that lost to Jeremys Truck so far, also to mention almost all were of the line and hit at least 80 or so on all of these races:
1. RC short bed 360 ram Auto with K&N Flow 40/True duals
2. Quad Cab 4.7 Auto with 3.92s, JBA Headers with true duals K&N CAI.
3. RC 4.8 Chevrolet truck with Homeade intake
4. Ext Cab 5.3 Chevrolet(stock)
5. Ext Cab 4.8 Chevrolet(stock)
6. Ext Cab Dakota 318 Auto (from a roll at 40 mph)
7. RC 4.7 Auto Ram with 3.55s
8. LOTS of 3.9 Dakotas
9. LOTS OF HONDAS
10. Damn thats a few more vehicles than I thought.
How about we cut the crap and just give jeremy credit when it is deserved.
