Subject: RPM PROBLEM! IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys whats up! Wow haven't been here in a while. Gotta a question and problem, my R/T started expierencing a RPM fluctuation problem about 4 months. The RPMS would rev up or down about 500 doing 40-75. It does it intermitenly, and it sorta feels like it wants to die but not.. and i'm getting poor gass milege. Anyone have any suggestions? Only mod i did to it was add on a K&N FIPK. THANKS HELP!

Message: I recently fixed this in my 99 CC 318. The Throttle Position Sensor wasn't chucking an error code, but it wasn't working properly and was causing my torque converter to lock/unlock at light throttle. The r's would oscillate a few hundred back and forth as it hunted about. $25 at Advance Auto for a GP Sorensen replacement TPS and I was back in bidness ;-)
Slighty OT - After a few months, I did the TPS voltage mod and it worked great for me. Some guys love/hate it, but it cured some minor complaints that I had.
Hope this helps!

Message: My 2001 Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9 did the same thing 3 months ago. Change your TPS and your problem is solved.
