That will vary a little from city to city, and brand to brand. Here in Colorado Springs, I always go to Discount Tires. They've always given me the best prices and excellent service.

I found (three times now) that if I bring one of the local shops around here the pricing I got from tire rack they will BEAT there price. I always give them the tirerack tire price plus what it would cost to ship to my door. Most big chain advertised prices cant compete with tirerack but I found if you know your numbers and give them a chance to match/beat they are often hungry for business and will blow tirerack out of the water. Last set of tires I had put on the local shop came in at $25/tire cheaper PLUS that included installation(another $12.50 or so per tire) - that adds up to over $150 in my pocket....
