Subject: True Dual Exhaust? IP: Logged
Message: OK guys i read all this stuff about true dual exhaust systems for the Dakota on KRC Performance. But i cant find any systems any where.
So do i have to build it from scratch and buy a muffler and cats and all that from other places or what.
I looking to put a True Dual Exhaust system on that goes from the headers to the rear bumper. THat includes cats, and mufflers and everthing in between.
Then again will this be better for performance than the cat-back dual systems?
Thanks for the Help
Just need this cleared up.

Message: Here is my experience on my 89 Shelby Dakota. Went from stock single exhaust to split dual exhaust with turbo mufflers after cat right after I bought the truck in 1990. Not much improvement over stock. Then had a true 2 1/2" dual setup made with high flow cats and Dynomax mufflers. Major improvement in performance. Felt like I had another 20hp. Added Magnum exhaust manifolds and dumped the air injection setup and felt another improvement. Depending on inspection requirements in your area you may be able have a shop install the components you need but I doubt you will find any exhaust shop willing to remove a cat due to Smog Nazi regs. If you pull in missing a cat or even an entire exhaust system you may find someone willing to play if you pay. If ou can so everything yourself, unleash your freak! Good Luck!
