Subject: Electric cooling... IP: Logged
Message: Alright, I'm going to give electrical fans a shot this summer. In the past they've sucked the big one. However, while they were on I did notice slight power improvements due to never turning a fan.
Now, what is probably the best fan in the sense of CFM? The more air it can move, the better. Also, which would last the longest. I want something that has a bit of both, if possible.
Now, the third and final thing, is how to set what temperature they kick in at. I'd like to have them kick in at 190deg since I have a 180deg thermo. Does that require programming my PCM, or can I set it on a control-unit that is attached to the fan, like in certain computer case-fans? Once I get this info I'll start looking.

Message: Several people I know have been doing the Viper Fan conversion. It does a fine job on the 5.9L engines.
