Message: I have a 94 4x4 ext. I am wondering about the mopar proformance computer offered through JEGs. Is it worth the money? Any substantial difference? I am looking for someone who has one, or tried one. It would one of few, minor aftermarket add ons. Maybe I should spend the money on other mods? This is all new to me, I will take any help I can get. Thanks!

Have you done any other mods like an air intake or exhaust?

Message: They don't recommend running a Mopar pcm when towing. I'd go with the following on your truck:
14x3 K&N Filter
F&B 50mm Throttle body
Headers
Exhaust
Those will all help your mileage (if you keep your foot out of it). Good power adders too.

Message: You forgot the biggy! I'm looking at a Holley four-barrel to replace my two-barrel. That'll give me MAD mileage as long as I'm not flooring it, and when I want to floor it, it'll be more power.
I am replacing my 10x2 chrome open-element air-filter housing with a 14x3 later and plan on using a foam filter. It has almost the same air-flow, and it traps smaller particles than gauze.
I also am waiting to get a chance to visit my family back home again and have my dual 2.25" exhaust put on. I'm mainly doing that for the sound, but performance won't be disliked.
As for the TB, I'm still debating a change. How hard is it to rip the old off and put the new one on? I've already looked at a Holley, but just looked, nothing serious yet.

Message: No, I have no proformance mods. I am not planning on modifying much, just would like to get my 318 running at the top of its game, you know? I have heard the are other mods that are better to start out with, and with a PCM I should get an intake manifold also?

Message: M1 intake manifold is good too. With a pcm I'd start out with at least an air intake of some sort and a exhaust system.

Message: Ok so A PCM is ok without other mods, but an aircleaner and housing, plus an exhaust would be good. What do you suggest for an exhaust? Kill the cat and put on a flowmaster 40 series? And I was wondering what the M1 manifold is... I am seeing that a lot on these forums. Thanks for all the help, I can use any and all comments/suggestions.

Message: Thank you for the help... all of you. I will probably own a MP PCM before too long. I am however a college student, working part time, so funds are limited... Plus after I wrecked my Dad's Ram, I had to pay a ticket and 500 deductable. Once again, if anyone has other suggestions, e-mail or post em.
Peace.

Message: TC, I have been to the FM site and saw all of that. I've also heard these things growing up in the country, and have heard the 70 on a 5.3L engine. I *REALLY* liked the way it sounded on the 5.3, so it shouldn't be TOO different on a 5.2L engine.
