Subject: wont idl-need help IP: Logged
Message: i have a 92 dakota that n cold weather will run for a few blocks then stalls every time i take my foot off the gas. starts rough then stalls right out.

Message: iac = idle air controller. It's the part on the throttle body nearest to the firewall. To clean completely, remove it from the tb by removing the air clean unit, disconnecting the wiring to the three parts "iac, map sensor, tps) on the tb, disconnect the throttle linkages, remove tb bolts to intake manifold. Remove iac carefully (do not bang the iac plunger hard or twist it). Clean with carb cleaner (Q tips are handy). Be sure to clean the air by-pass port in the tb where the iac is as well. Reverse to reinstall. HTH.
