Message: same prob on my 00 4.7... took it in for diagnostics, shop said it was coilpack told me 150.00 for parts and labor. Bought coilpack for 50.00 and installed myself in 10 min. By the way after prolonged missfiring the oil should be changed in case fuel leaked in because it wasnt burned in the missfiring cylinder.

Message: Put a vacuum gauge on it. If the gauge jumps or dips during misfire, you have an internal, mechanical engine problem (like a valve for instance) if it remain steady, you have a fuel or ignition problem.

Message: Mine was misfireing because of my fuel pump. It was not pumping enough gas and it would register as a multiple misfire. It could also be filter. Mine is a 97 Dakota with a V-8 4X4 with 80,000

Message: OK guys. Code PO308 started after intake gasket and base plate gasket was replaced. At that time I replaced distributor cap, rotor button, spark plugs, spark plug wires and decarboned engine. Swapped spark plugs, wires, and fuel injectors after each still PO308. Checked compression on engine all cylinders 175 lbs except #8 125 lb. Put air on cylinder and exhaust valve leaking. Removed valve cover and exhaust manifold. Removed valve spring and rotated valve with drill to remove carbon. Ran 2 more cans of combustion chamber cleaner through engine. Took out for good Hard test drive, still PO308. Compression #8 still 125 lb. PUT OLD DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR BACK IN AND GUESS WHAT? No more PO308!!! Got hold of a bad Mopar perforance Cap. But no more CODE Yahooooo!
