Subject: Roadmaster suspension IP: Logged
Message: OK I have heard many things about these things and now I would like some honest opinions . I have a 2000 QC 2WD 4.7 auto 3.55 rear gear . I do tow a trailer and use it like a truck on occasion. Question is ?? Will they help any aspects of my truck or not.

Message: I looked into Roadmaster before I towed my boat for the first time. My truck didn`t sag much when I did so I didn`t bother with them. I would of got Roadmaster if sagging was an issue though. They really beef up the rear suspension without too stiff of a ride from what I read. People liked them, no one said they regretted it.

Message: I've had mine for over a year and this is its second winter. I keep 360 pounds of traction sand in the back for about 4.5-5 months of the year (that's really depressing now that I think about it). My truck doesn't hardly sag. The springs also have a nice memory, back to normal in spring. I haul over a half ton of wood pellets with my traction sand every two months. My truck is lowered in the back, but I've never hit the bump stops (~7 mile drive on highway, county, and private drive roads).
I havn't adjusted mine since I first installed them. I checked them about two months ago and usually every few months. I've never had to readjust them. I set them to their reccomended setting and have never had a problem.
I can't comment on the stiffness since I installed my dropping-leafs at the same time. But mine is pretty stiff. I mean, you can jump up and down on the bumper and it wont go more than a couple inches. Kinda stiff for some people. Coming off speed bumps feels more like you came off a small curb than crawled over it.
But, if I ever buy any vehice with leafs again, first thing is the RAS.

Message: I put them on my 92 5.2 4X4 CC about 6 years ago, I’ve since passed that truck on to my daughter, I’m going to put them on my 03 4.7 4X4 soon.
They raised the ass on the 92 almost an inch so I put a few more turns on the torsion bars in front to compensate then had it aligned. I don’t like trucks doing a nosedive. The major improvements were increased anti sway on turns and they almost eliminated wheel hop. I loved them.
