Subject: no parts available for a v8? IP: Logged
Message: it makes me sick to go on a mopar web site to find more parts available for neons and jeeps. the closest thing to old school muscle now days is a truck. where else are you gonna get a v8 powerred vehicle rear wheel drive, unless you wanna drive a cop car, or you can afford a corvette or mustang. so do i haave to buy an old 440 to be able to make decent hp gains or is this new generation 4.7l going to have some potential for tearring up the 1/4 mile? dont get me wrong it is a fun truck to drive but it doesnt compare to the old mopar muscle.

Message: I think that if you would compare hp per cubic inch you would find that the 4.7 compares quite well.

Message: i agree it does make good hp to ci ratio, but don't forget the 426 hemi made 425 hp off the showroom floor. then you could start doing mods. what i'm getting to is why do we have to buy a stang or vette to have a decent selection of aftermarket performance mods. you can build a neon to put out over 300 hp but the 4.7 dakotas seem to have been forgotten. i know i could put a supercharger on it and nitrous and so on, but for that kind of money i'd drop a big block in it. and from what i've learned from everybody on this site is most parts out there don't do sh*t for performance and cost a whole lot of money.
