Subject: 98 DAK tranny-I think IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone experienced or heard of this problem.
98 V8 Auto - From dead stop and in gear Rpm's normal but truck does not want to go or crawls.
Had it towed to a garage I deal with and could not repeat the problem the next day after 10 attempts. The next day same problem came back. They have not been able to pinpoint the cause as yet. No check engine light on. Any suggestions ?

Message: Since your RMP are correct that means something in the drive line is slipping.
Try draining your tranny fluid and replacing it... Check for metal shaving ect. in the fluid (sign of REAL problems). If its not there my guess would be torque converter, or that O/D gear behind the 727, those are known for having problems. If all else fails try 'resetting' the tranny computer, could be its half in gear (like how they have the dual ratio second gear on the new trannies).
