 Subject: Tranny and Gas Mileage

First questions, I have a 99' Club Cab 4x4 with a 318, and I get about 13 miles to the gallon, and not much better on the freeway. Is this typical? And that is about 10% city driving, I drive long highways...
Next, how hard would it be to change out my tranny to a 5-spd? Thanks!

Expensive headache. It might be easier to trade for another vehicle with the drivetrain of choice. If you keep your current truck, you can up the efficiency with less air intake restriction, free-flow exhaust, tire choice and pressure, etc.
