what would a 40 series flowmaster sound like on a 02 dak w/ the 4.7, its my bros truck and if it isnt going to sound any louder than stock, i dont want to waste the money.... any help is appreciated...

I can only tell you I had the original 40 series not the new 40s and it was way to loud sounded mean but just to loud.

Oh forgot to mention that the orignal 40 sux period. all it does is pop pop pop when you let off the gas. I have a magnaflow thats sounds 10x better.

I've got a 70 series. Sound goes out the back, not up the floorboard. Had a louder 50 series before; get same performance with the 70 but easier to live with.

I have the 40 series Flowmaster on my 2000 4.7 Dak and it sounds great. I have 3" inlet and 2 1/4 outlets.....not 2 1/2 !!! Sounds alot better than my friends 2001 4.7 Dak equipped with Gibson catback.Now that sounds too freakin loud !!!!!

My opinion is Magnaflow or Dynomax Ultra-Flow. I've had both and loved each of them. Not too loud, but they sound great. I currently have a 3" single Ultra-Flow, and everyone thinks I have duals. It sounds nice. The sound carries along distance (you can hear me coming), but it is never too loud. Weird but cool!!

I had a 40 series on my dakita. I thought it sounded sort of crappy. Especially if you were driving against a wall. it has a woosh sound more than a rumble. I took it off and gave it to a buddy who has a v6 one and it sounds awesome on his.
i installed a Dynomax muffler. i looked at Borla and I found the Dynomax is exactly the same size lenght and interior desing as the borla for about 1/4 the price. I think I paid 60$ for mine from JC whitney. its the race series one but not the bullet
Sounds good and not too noisy in the cab

Get a 50 series 4 chamber delta flow.... best sound you'll ever get, and the same performance that any of the other guys get. Just remember this... the more "chambers" there are,... the less loud it will be, inside, outside, driveby, etc.

i have the original 40 series flowmaster on my 4.7l with 4 inch tips and i love it.i had a straight pipe onit and them a magnaflow and i didnt care for either one and then i bought the flowmaster and it sounds great

I think it has alot to do with age None of my friends 30 and older really care for the flowmaster, but I am sure the younger crowd likes it loud and that what you get with FM 40, I can hear my truck coming down my street when my wife is driving it and it is just loud enough so you know there is a V8 coming with magnaflow. the FM i had is twice as loud. I felt I had to coast with the flowmaster when I saw a police car in fear of getting pulled over. not good
