Subject: Air intake or just drop in k&n

Message:
Just put an original flowmaster 40 series muffler on my truck. Kept the single stock pipe. Would a whole intake kit be better or just a drop in K&N filter. I dont want to void any warrantys. What are the best bolt on air intake systems? 2002 QC 4.7 Thanks in advance!

Don't worry about voiding warranties with an intake, you'll be fine. I think a whole system will give a bit more power than a drop-in, but if you use a drop in and replace the flex tubing between the airbox and the airhat with some straight tube, you would probably see slightly better gains than just the drop-in... lot's of us have built our own, they work just fine too.
