Subject: my tranny IP: Logged
Message: if my tranny were to "go out" and it were covered by warrenty, would i be able to have them replace it with a 5 speed and cover the cost of the linkage and such? or would i have to pay for the full unit?

Message: More than likley they would have to replace it with the same type transmission. But you could go to the dealer (or Call) and ask.
I take it you wish you had a stick in the floor?

Message: I think that they would laugh personally, theres a lot more to a manual than an auto, youd have to shell out some big bucks for the hydraulic clutch assembly, cut your floorboard for a shifter, mount the clutch pedal........put a shift kit in your auto.....save a few grand that way

Message: transgo shift kit, bout 100 bucks, do it yourself in about 4-8 hours, or have it done at a tranny shop for 100 bucks....go to www.txchange.com and find the info there, they are the biggest distributor of trans go shift kits

Message: ok, ive read up on it a little bit but i'm still not sure exactly where it goes and what not, it says no transmission removal necessary, then where the hell does it go? how hard is it to do, i'm pretty damn mechanically inclined just never work on vehicles that much but i CAN and DO get it done

Message: you tear apart the valve body, its tricky doing it with the tranny still in the vehicle if you dont have a lift. I would recommend having it done professionally, peace of mind if nothing else
