Message: which route should I go? ... I've heard great things and spoken to dave from B&G but $550.00 is high ... for that amount of money I could have the mopar pcm and be well into my headers. Heard good things about mike leech's flash too ... so what's the deal guys? On my 00' 360 what should I go with? My MAIN concern is slow speed shift points and raising the high rpm points... anyhow what do you think?
thanks,
-m

Message: For your setup, nothing special other than a Mopar PCM will do fine. KRC has those for $28x.xx something I think. Mike Leach flash over a stock PCM is the same as mopar--
If you need to get MORE out of your PCM, higher shifts, higher fuel cut off rev limiter, etc.. Go with Mike Leach. I had my MOPAR PCM turned up, 6500 fuel cutoff, 5600 rpm shift point, 4 degrees of timing added over the Mopar PCM... blah blah blah.
Love it....
KEEP YOUR STOCK PCM-- Just in case you have a PCM go bad. The $100 or refund they give you ain't worth crud when you need to buy a stock replacement unit down the road for $600.00.

Message: I just got the BG flash on my 2002 R/T and see absolutely no power difference at all. The partial throttle shift points are not changed at all and the wide open were increased only 100rpms over stock. BG advertised 400 rpm difference in wide open shifts, but after I paid the $550 and got it back and called him, he says that 100 was all he could do that I would have to adjust the TV cable. Personally I got screwed, others who have this flash love it but maybe he forgot do anything to mine and just took me for the $550. If I had it to do over I would go with ASE or Kenne Bell for the flash and use the extra $$ for 1.7 roller rockers or 4.56 gears. The B&G flash was a complete waste of money.

Message: Did you get the regular flash, or the M1 flash? The M1 flash makes quite a bit of difference in how the vehicle drives.

Message: i would email john mercedes at jmmtsb@prodigy.net he can get the mopar pcm for $290 or $315 flashed with your vin # and milage so that the dealer can't tell the difference. if you are looking for higher revs and faster shifts the chip is the way to go, john can get you anything for a cheaper price then anybody i know of.

Message: I got the regular flash because initially he told me not to get the M1 flash with out the M1 manifold. He said the only difference was 12 more degrees of timing advance and 200 more rpms in shift points (24degrees vs 36degrees and 5200 vs 5400 rpm shift points). He said I would need atleast 93 or 94 octane to keep it from pinging, I can only get 92. Also he said the keg intake totally quits breathing at around 5000 anyway. But then after I paid for it and called back to voice my displeasure, he said that 100 rpms was all the computer would increase the shift points and I had to use the TV cable to get more. I was told 5200 shift points and it shifts at 4900 rather than 4800 stock, $550 for 100rpms is a little steep, so I think something is wrong.

Message: rtdkota, so the Mike Leach flash is a flash over the stock PCM that makes it similar to the MOPAR PCM?

Message: Mike Leach flash (non custom) is the same as the MP PCM... I did a ML flash on my 99 RT 5 months before the MP PCM was even released--- checked it agaisnt the MP PCM when it came out-- same. My MP PCM on my 00 RT wasn't enough for me, so I had it modified (that's right, more stuff than what the MP PCM already does)... I could have just done that to a my stocker and not gone with the MP PCM, but I wanted to go MP PCM initially, then needed more with my cam/head combo. I currently have 3 PCMs--- bone stocker, a MP PCM from another 00 RT, and a MP-PCM w/Custom flash.
I can get you what ever you want on the PCM... up to a 2000 right now... some models/combos aren't available...

I'm curious to know what kind of performance gain you got with the extra 4 degrees advance over the MP pcm timing. Also, I have been told that Leach can remove all delays if requested. Do you happen to know exactly what delays are removed? Thanks.

Message: I bought one of the first Mike Leach PCM's in 1998 for my R/T and had it custom programmed - I have it for sale (fits 1998 only)
FWIW, Leach uses the guy who does Dodge's R&D for their PCM's.

Message: I had the KB flash on my truck for almost a year and I had my doubts about the B&G flash...but last week I finally spent the tax check getting it and I have to say I'm totally impressed. Top end pulls harder...I had tranny problems w/ mine before but it shifts hard and precise everytime, and my A/F ratio has gotten richer which is what I needed.
I recommend the B&G M-1 flash if u have an M-1!!
