Subject: dead engine was the reason for ... IP: Logged
Message: ...my high oil consumption (4L per 1,000KM). More exactly the piston rings are worn (72,000KM) and the engine must be overhault.
However the good news is the dealer will pay it. I guess I should replace the original pistons by forget pistons on this occasion :-)
Maybe sometime I will need a supercharger ;-)
Do you know who offers forget pistons for the 5.9L R/T?

Message: http://www.kb-silvolite.com/ The KB hyperutectic piston are a great alternative to forged, stronger than cast but you dont need extra cylinder to piston skirt clearance like forged pistons, kinda doubt the dealer will pay for the extra machining time and ring endgap setups with these pistons tho, maybe? You should also CC your heads to see what the exact compression ratio would be with the KB`s and depending on how you plan to use your motor i;e fuels, you will have to set the ring end gaps bigger than what stock would call for,I like the speed-pro moly file to fit rings.
