Subject: overheating help!!!!!!!!!!!!! IP: Logged
Message: I need someone who has the factory service maual to tell me the steps for adding/refilling coolent on an 01 4.7. I change to a 180 stat last night and it is overheating now in 10 minutes or less. I switched tried another stat same thing. I think maybe I got air in the system and/or I'm not bleeding it out right or something. this is my daily driver I need some help asap! Local dealers don't stock the manual they give a number to call to order. doesn't help me today. Maybe someone can give me detailed install notes maybe I'm doing something wrong with the gasket or something? Maybe I got the Wrong stant P/n? Can you guys running stants(super stat) tell me the P/N you used on your 4.7?
Thanks guys really frustrated...
01 4.7 running great before switched out old tstat for new one.

Message: Did you remove the bleed screw on the upper hose fitting (has a hex head screw with an arrow pointing to it)? I forgot to do that on mine and it overheated.
I parked on an incline (front higher) and removed the screw, then removed the radiator cap that is inline on the hose. Poured antifreeze mix in to that slowly. After that, it didn't over heat and I could add the remainder of mix to the overflow tank. HTH
