Subject: 4.7 mods IP: Logged
Message: ok guys what are some cheap mods i can do on my 4.7 to give it a bit more get up and go? i look around and all i see are stuff for the 5.2/5.9. anyone got anything for me?

Message: Well what j listed is a good start. If you want to keep it cheap, go with a home brew intake with a heat shield and insulation (too keep the air cold), and don't remove the factory 'air hat.' Just the 'air box.' That'll cost you about $50-60. Then take a dremel tool and bastardize your throttle body - try your best to bore it out, keeping it round and smooth.
HO cams ($200 for the pair) are a must from what I hear (I still can't afford it). ... look into getting your heads ported (or do it yourself if you're experience with the TB has made you a dremel pro).
I wouldn't worry too much about the exhaust (or at all ... unless all you're after is sound).
Replace all oil with synthetic (Tranny and Engine especially).
That should be a good cheap start (less than $400 anyhow).
