Subject: Love the Mopar PCM on my 99 R/T IP: Logged
Message: After installation of the Mopar PCM last week I drove about 600kms on the German Autobahn this weekend.
And guess what:
1. No speed limiter anymore - I drove my R/T up to the end of the speedometer (200kph = 125mph). No limiter and great handling!
2. No speed limit for cruize control anymore. When driving back in the night I was able to set the speedlimiter at 170kph (about 106mph) without any problems!
3. My fuel consumption at average speeds of 150-180 kph drop 2.2L/100km! Instead of 20.2L/100km I had 3 weeks ago on the German Autobahn I only needed 17.8L/100km (Sorry but I do not now what this is in Gallons/Mile).
This is the best performance part I ever bought. For people living in Europe it offers all you need and give you aditional HP - what do you want more? :-)

Message: Do they charge you extra for having a engine over 2 liters? I know there is a fee or another that penalizes you for having a big engine in some countries in Europe.

Message: Correct troy.
The mpg increased:
With the standard PCM I needed for 100 fast driven kilometers 20.2L fuel.
With the Mopar PCM I needed for 100 fast driven kilometers merely 17.8L fuel.
But if you tell me I wasn't good in my calculation you will be right. I didn't need 2.2L less fuel - it's 2.4L less ;-)

I am running 98 octane but after the European Octan numbers. This should be around 95 U.S. octane!?

Message: Tim,
Your fuel milage before the pcm was 11.645 Miles per gallon, now after the pcm change you get 13.215 Miles per gallon. That's not to bad for a 5.9 auto at 100 mph+. That is why I got the 4.7L with the 5 speed. I just got back from Chiemsee and went to the Eagles Nest while there in Berchestgaden, and came back via the LEGOLAND on A-8 up A-7 to A-3 and averaged running most times at 115 mph cruise speed, running up to 130+ mph regularly and averaged 17.142 Miles per gallon. I drove total of 960 miles and used 56 gallons of fuel, or 212 Liters.
I did have fun, we went to Salzburg and Fortress, Kehlstein Haus (Eagles Nest), Berchetsgaden, Herren Chiemsee Castle and Island and others.
Will see you in a couple days.

The octane crossover is 98 Europe = 93 USA. I use the same fuel in mine also.

That a very good average consumption and this with a camping gear and your complete family!
I guess you saw a lot nice places on your trip. The places you mentioned definitely are very nice locations. I hope you and your family enjoyed the trip.
See you in a couple (unforunately) more days.
Tim
BTW thank you for the conversion of fuel consumption and Europe octane numbers.
