Subject: How's my Truck IP: Logged
Message: Hello all,
I have a 2001 SLT Plus Club Cab black and silver two tone Dakota. 4.7L V-8 AUTOMATIC
All wheel Drive
3.55 rear axle ratio
Basically fully loaded minus leather.
I have raced two different R/T's and beat them both. I havn't added any kind of mods to my truck as of yet. I have also been reading in the other posts about a top speed of only 106-115mph, I have personally had mine up to 122 one day racing a little BMW. How did I do this? Also what is the big deal with 5 speed manual transmissions. My automatic is just fine for me. One thing that I would like to do however is add at least 100hp to my stock engine. What should I do to add the hp and not lose hardly any torque. I would like to say that money is no object but it is. I have around $6,000 to spend. I was looking at just saving my money to put towards a Ram SRT but as nice as a Viper engine with 500hp would be with a heavy truck. I would like to maybe get a new 5.7 340-360hp Hemi to drop into my truck and mod the hell out of it, hopefully the lighter dakota with a Hemi modded up to around 460hp would blow the doors off of a Ram SRT. But I am not the expert what do all of you other Dakota fans think.

Message: Frist of all Dakota's do not come in a all wheel drive. Second of all I don't think you smoked nothing except a fat JOINT thinking you smoked a Dakota R/T with a stock 4.7.

The man is saying that it is a 4X4.
Christopher:
Not sure how you beat two R/Ts. It's actually not possible for you to do that with your truck as heavy as it is. Given the driver actually had their foot all the way down...
And ummm, nitrous. That will satisfy sudden urges for power.

Message: 2BluefrUDakot, I think he means full time 4wd and yes they did make that. I think it is a $325 option, you get no wheel spin (on dry pavement)

Message: Yep there is all wheel drive available I own one 2001 CC 4.7L as for out running the R/Ts it could be done with a stock R/T with a less than good driver. I know mine out pulls the 2 wheel V6 without any trouble but i wont know about the R/T till october when my roomate buys his new one.
