i have a 97 dodge dakota 4x4 and i did a 5.2 to a 5.9 swap is there any one that has swapped auto trans for a manual in this truck, and if so what were the mods and how bad or can it be done with out going crazy with mods

Use the NV3500 trans if you can. Best bet is to find one in a Dakota in the boneyard and get all that you need. The NV4500 has the shifter much farther foraward making it difficult for the shifter. You will need a 360 weighted flywheel, clutch, and the resevoir/slave cylinder setup. I have all those parts and will sell real cheap. You will also have to get the pedal setup from a manual Dakota. not too tough.
