Mine is at about 95, 113 would be nice! The info for this is at speedtweaks.com. The only thing you can do right now is hold the key in the start position and it will bypass the speed control, but this doesn't sound like a good solution, wouldn't the starter be turning at this point? And at 100 mph this would not be a good thing! Speadtweeks says they are working on a solution for this but don't have anything yet.

The only way with out computer tinkering is to hold the key to start. The starter will not engage because you are in the drive gear and starter only works in Neutral or park. And for 5 speed the clutch has to be engaged.

messing with the key at almost 100mph....only
a fool would try it, just wait till there is a fix, or
have it raised, mine cuts at 98 if the kenne bell
optimizer could raise it to 135 or more, I would
be more than happy.

Ok, who's been bold enough to try the key in start position method? My truck is SO stable at this speed I would have no problem with it as long as I knew the starter would not engage. Find a good straight road and let me know.

Well, i didnt try it, I chickened out... But as i was thinking about doing it, it occured to me that it might just work cause in order to start my truck, (ie the starter to engauge) the clutch does have to be pushed in. So, i might try it tomarow for real.... any thoughts?

the key trick works I've done it before. I wired a switch from the abs fuse so I can just cut the speed limiter and speedometer off by flipping the switch.

Since you brought up this old thread looking for an answer. I'll go ahead and post some info. The only way right now is a new PCM, reflashed PCM, or hold your key to the on position, I would not recommend the key procedure because when you do this I think it puts the computer in a type of limp in mode where it uses the last known input variables to maintain the engine, cause when the key is turn the PCM thinks the engine is starting.

And last but not least, you can get in on the group buy I have going on for the Hypertech Programmer III, which will among other things allow you to remove the limiter. Check out
www.rpmoutlet.com for more info. And more info on the buy in the group buy section.

PS. Before you go around trying to break 110 mph, make sure your rims and tires are in excellent condition and are balanced. And the speed rating matches the speed your trying to drive.

Thanks,
Michael

My truck is a 2002 cc sport 4x4 with the 4.7 I can do the 117 mph it lets me do easy, but before I go any faster I want the tires and rims to be able to. Also I don't want to sound like anybodys mom, but in another post, I read about a guy with the 98 mph limiter and he had a programmer (or so he said) and was up in the 116 mph range and his driveshaft broke, I think he said the reason for the 98 mph limiter was a vibraion above 100 in some Dakota's driveline. So my point is becareful about wanting more speed but not making sure your truck can handle it!!!
