Uh, yeah, 35hp for $300 and 5 hours labor is pretty damn impressive. I doubt you can get even a 35-hp Sneaky Pete kit for $300 from NX........

If the dyno numbers that Bernd posted in the V-8 forum are true, this is a HELL of a deal.

I got the HO intake manifold, too. $150 for cams, $150 for intake. That's about $1000 of parts when you start talking aftermarket parts for a Camaro or Mustang...... Hahahahaha!!

Koons ships the parts. You will have to come up with the tool yourself. I got the tool from Marty at KRC.

CW- Bernd posted that the cams+intake+computer tweaks = 35 hp. I bet most of it was the computer....

Alex, I'll be able to prove/ disprove it as soon as I get back to the dyno. Hopefully in the next 2 weeks. My gut feeling is less 15 hp +/-.
I would be shocked if it were more than 20 hp.
Even if its only 15, it was still worth the $300.

"Plus computer tweak" But cams and intake were not 35hp. Were they not putting on the heads as well?

CW, I added the "Computer Tweaks" at the same time as the Cams and intake. I orginally had the computer flash 2 years ago and the dealer overwrote it. When I did the cams/intake swap I sent the computer back to Leach for a re-burn.
Prior to this the trucked pulled 216 hp, with a 72mm TB, 180 tstat, gutted cat and Flowmaster exhaust. When I go back to the dyno in a week or two I'll be able to see what I gained with the Computer tweaks, Cams and intake... again, NOT 35 hp, at least I don't believe so.

CW- I just spent 30 minutes looking for that post and I cant' find it.... I really don't think they were adding the whole HO head.

Matt keep us posted.....

As for 35 hp.... okay. Okay. 15 hp is still pretty good for $300 plus 5 hours labor. When you look at it.

I haven't heard any convincing evidence that the HO heads are any different. But some people claim they are. I bet you could get more results from just cleaning up the bowls in your stock heads..... Bet you can't get HO heads for the money a machine shop will charge you for a good porting job. Or you could do it your own self and really save money.

Okay I was totally wrong!!!
IP: Logged

Message:
I finally found Bernd's original post. I was totally wrong. He did include the heads and there are headers here too, but the hp figure is 58 rwhp!!!! Here:----->>>

HO Cams + HO Heads + HO Intake + Headers + a few small "tweaks" = 58RWHP. Local dealer out here did it on several 4.7L's and they dyno tested them just to see. It works!!

Hmmm...240HP at the crank + (approximately) 70HP at the crank from the HO conversion = 310HP out of the 4.7L. (Hehehehee...5.9's better watch out now.) ;)

<<<<-----

I then posted a few more questions to Bernd and got Jack for a response.
