Subject: PCM - Dash code IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 dakota 4.7 . The truck just died the other day, and has no power to the needle gauges on dash. It turns the start but will not start. The dash code on the trip meter reads: NO BuS I am being told that it is the PCM unit that has gone bad. Has anyone else experianced this? Just wonering if that is a typical code when the PCM dies. (or could it be a simple and less expensive repair?)

Message: Yup - no bus means there is a comunication problem somewhere. Could be the PCM, but could just be a bad ground or connection some where.

Message: Hit the brakes, partner! It is NOT the PCM. I have a thread elswhere on here titled "Body Control Module". My odometer reads the same, and I was told the same thing. After dropping 5 Benji's for a new PCM (actually called an ECM now)stealer informed me PCM uses a SCSI interface, not BUS...All other modules use BUS interfaces. They narrowed it down to the Central Timing module...
