Subject: miss at 2k rpm IP: Logged
Message: i have a grandpa fresh 92 5.2 4x4 auto, sat in the garage most of its life. has about 70k miles, about 15k on a rebuilt motor (my cousin borrowed it a few years ago and drove it into a river, motor sucked water)
my problem is that i have an intermitent miss between 1800 and 2300 rpm, medium throttle. an example is driving an uphill part of the freeway, 60 to 65 mph. engine temp makes no difference. i put in new plugs and wires, should check the cap tho. i had read last year sometime about indexing the distributor, making sure the hall effect switch is seeing its input at TDC #1. do i have this info correct? has anyone had this problem before?
