Message: first off there is only one pinion gear. its the gear thats connected to the drive shaft. the pinion gear turns the ring gear which is bolted to the differential casing. Spider gears are connected to the differential casing by the pin. those spider gears turn the gears that are directly connected to the axles. there is alot that goes into reassembling a differential. you need special tools to measure backlash. if you dont do it right you will blow it up going down the road. If your spider gears that are connected to the differential casing with the pin are broken, you can replace those without pulling the whole unit out. I wouldnt recommend you doing it because obviously you dont know whats going on. get a friend that does.

Message: Is the 87-89 front end the same? I have a couple of them laying around if you need one.
