Message: i have put forth v8 engines that i have used and found to be highly efficient, in performance, gas mileage and durability. true they are older engines but with everyone looking for better performance and gas mileage in a v8 i think these are the ones that fit the bill. just my humble opinion. but then again u have to be my age to have driven these cars to appreciate them :)

I just wish I could get my modern vehicle to have that classic Mopar exhaust resonance.
I haven't been able to duplicate it but sure wish I could.
I remember trying to milk gas mileage out of my '68 Belvedere with 383 4brl carb during the gas crunch in '73. As I recall - I didn't have much luck in that department. Of course part of the problem could be attributed to my spastic right foot! hahaha

Message: Duner, your mention of that "Classic Mopar resonance" made me break out my copy of 'Bullitt', just so I could hear that '68 Charger at speed.
I once owned a '69 Charger R/T, and must agree with you. Nothing produced today sounds as melodious as an old Mopar big block going through the gears!

Message: yep go with a carbed engine if you want true mopar performance. ya don't see NASCAR using what engines are made of today. If no exhaust checks done in your state do what is simple and less maint.....
