Subject: R/T transmisson problem with overdrive IP: Logged
Message: Hi, My 2000 Dakota r/t has a problem with slipping in overdrive.I used to have the problem of it wouldnt shift from 1st to 2nd on WOT then the dealer replaced the valve body and i dont have that problem anymore, now when I am at freeway speeds i floor the gas to pass someone and it feels like its slipping , like if i had a clutch , as if i had the clutch half way depressed.
Anyone know what the problem is now?

Message: Wait... Before you do that, I would consider checking out the TPS (Throttle Positioning Sensor). I've heard of some people having that problem and it going away after replacing that. I had the problem where the transmission would lock-unlock-lock-etc. A new one can be purchased for $26-$36 depending on where you buy it from. I will say that when I took mine out, I found a small crack in it. That may not be it, but at least take a look at it....
