Subject: battery chargeing IP: Logged
Message: got back from a weeks vacation, went to start the dakota, dead!. on charger now at 12volts, 2 amps. will this be ok, or shound i go to the 10 amp setting. i know i will be buying a battery tomorrow, it's the original one in there now. last me six years, and a few months.

Did you get the new battery yet ?
Be sure to clean up the cable ends nicely when you change it..

Message: Got 6 years out of mine too. (2000 4.7) Green dot was mighty dim, but it always started right up. Gave in and bought a NAPA. Who needs the problem of having it go dead at an inopportune time. I credit my alternator, the 140 amp one.
