I just bought a 98 50mm Throttle body. Was wondering when i order the Acel cable do i order it for the 98 Dakota, or mine which is an 02 Dakota 3.9L V6. Will the cable fit with no mods on my truck if i buy the 98 Cable? And please guesstimate how much it should run me. thanks.
I have learned alot since coming to this site. I will join next month to ensure it stays open. thanks again.

Hmmm... you need to order one with the proper lingage for the throttle body I believe which would mean order for the 98 tb.

So i buy the cable for the 98 throttle body, will it fit into my 02 truck? I don't want the cable to be to short or anything like that. So If i buy the cable for a 98 it will fit my truck no problems? thanks, GB2000.

Don't quote me on that, but I think so... cuz if you buy one for an 02, you may have a different linkage.

that 50mm TB might be a bit too big for the v6. The difference is how the cable snaps onto the cam at the tb. Since the engine is the same from the 98 to the 02, and the distance from the gas pedal to the TB is the same, either one should work. However, I saved the money and welded a nipple onto the cam (actually a stripped screw from the butterfly valve) on the place where the v8 TB should be. I havent needed to change anything as a result and it works like its supposed to. Of course if you dont have a welder handy this is mute.

If it's just a 50mm V8 tb it won't be too big... 50mm which goes down to 48mm with the torque step. But yeah, true 50mm all the way would be too big.

Yes is just a V8 5.2 Throttle body, which turns into 48mm. Thanks, hey GB can you send me that throttle cable if its extra?

I'd send it, but I got to thinking...it's a V6 cable. It'd be the same as your stock cable, so prolly wouldn't work on the new throttle body. I think you can pick one up at the stealership for around $28 though.
