Message: Does anyone out there know if replacing OEM ball joints on the '99 2wd Daks with Moog greaseable ball joints is the right thing to do? I have read that they are much better than the OEM joints but it is always nice to get reassurance. I know I don't want to replace piece of sh$t ball joints over and over.

Message: Info is right , greaseable joints will last
much longer - provided you grease them
regularly..
This "greased for life B.S. " is exactly
that = B.S.

Message: Is it the right thing? To replace a dried up ball joint with play? Should you change your oil and use a Purolator (or whatever)filter? YES. Big job though. Time it with your next alignment and also inspect and replace as neccessary: Control arm Bushings, upper ball joint (if you are talking about the lower ball joint), tie rod ends, Pitman and Idler if equipped, pack bearings, replace hub assembly if equipped, and rebuild brakes as needed. Grease all your fittings every other oil change. Party on and Good Luck!

Message: Twin10, hell yes, it is the ONLY thing to do! Don't buy OEM from the dealer unless you want to re-replace them next week end! Good luck. Relf.

Message: Get them at rockauto.com. You can replace them yourself if you have a grinder or something else to break the old rivets off the stock ball joints. Then just get an alignment.
