Message: OK guys, i have a 99 CC dak. many mods, and many problems lol. but i recently moved to atlanta, and up north i ahd inspections yearly as most people do, but in atlana they plug direct into the computer and if ANY code is tripped you fail. last time i lived here they failed me for the speed sensor on the tranny, replaced, reset the computer for o2 and a cpl other codes and passed. this time knowing the o2 would trip again i reset the pc and while it was reseting, i tried to pull the abs sensor out of the rear end above the drive shft because reading you alls post and replies alot matched my symptoms. to make along story short i couldnt pull out the old one because after unplugging the wires and trying to pull it out the whole damn thing broke off flush to the "housing" so to get tested and pass temp. i just plugged the new abs sensor up and zipped it to my brake lines it will kick the light on after about 3 min of driving but will not light up at firrst so basically i passed but how in the h e l l am i going to get the old sensor out of the rear end??????
please help and sorry t was so much beatn around the bush to get to the point just wanted all to know where i stand!!

Message: Before you take out the pumkin, I would try an EZ-out or somthing, I had that sensor replaced on my 98,and I still have the old one just for parts matching. Where did yours snap off at? I will check mine and see if you might have a shot at extraction.

Message: I got a couple sensors out by finding a fine thread tap that just fits to cut threads inside the sensor housing. Then put a nut on a screw that fits the threads. Put the screw and nut through a socket, screw the assembly into the threaded sensor, hold the screw head with a wrench and tighten the nut. It should pull the sensor housing out. Make sure the socket has the square end up so the sensor piece can go inside the large end of the socket. If you use a deep socket make sure there are no ridges inside the socket that would interfere with the sensor piece. Dan
