Subject: Cat ? for exhaust mods IP: Logged
Message: G'day I am looking to buy headers, have done intake, 180Tstat, plugs, wires, cap & rotor all advise from this site. Am planning on getting V8 TB also, was going to go with JBA or Gibson throught stainless would be better from past experience with racing alfa I had, my question is about cats, I have very little knowledge about them my alfa was pre-unleaded gas. I have 2002 3.6L V6 5 speed and there is one cat at end of each manifold with O2 sensors connecting into what appears to be a 3rd cat then the muffler. What is the purpose of the 3rd cat and can it be removed without causing error codes.
Would appreciate any help.
Regards
