Subject: Dak gave me the Heebee geebee's IP: Logged
Message: Today I went to go pick up a friend from high school. After the they got into my Dak and I passed a fews lights, coming to a red. Of course I applied the brakes, seeing that I really didn't want to crush the little civic in front of me. When my speedometer caught my eye. It was climbing instead of falling. It was a smooth, good paced climb to 120 and pass and dropped right back down. I thought I blew something or my gauges took a sh*t. But when I got going again, they all worked fine, in fact they were smoother than before. Any ideas? A sign that my gauges are looking in the future for replacement? Its a 2000 RC Sport V6 with only 38,000. Any insights would be appreciated.

Message: I'd say it's some kind of sensor or maybe a bad ground...but that's just a complete guess.

Message: Sometimes when i spin the tires my tach will shoot way past the redline (even though the engie isn't overrevving) and my speedo will get stuck at around 60mph, but after a mile or 2 of driving it all goes back to normal. Maybe it's normal??

Message: That's not normal... I'd guess speed sensor. Not sure where it's located... rear-end I think. Sorry, that's not very helpful.

Message: No problem, thanks for your input, just wanted to see if it was a coming problem. I mean being at a almost complete stop and it climbs passed 120 than back down and runs normal when I get going. Just weird. Maybe I had an Enclose counter of the Dak kind. LOL. Thanx for your help.

Message: the speed sensor is on the top of the rear dif. I havent replaced mine, I cleaned it when I changed my diff fluid though. sometimes after a decent burnout, it would act a lil funny (i dont burnout anymore) then in a few miles it would be OK.
thats just my .02

Message: (i dont burnout anymore) SURE You Don't
My tach likes to stick on 2000 rpm when its cold
outside like below 0 and every once in a while all
will read low or high for a few secs than be normal
All 3 of my daks did that but never had any probs

Message: hehe ok larry you caught me LOL!!! I dont do it often anymore, ok is that better :-P at least i try not to....
but sometimes I pull out onto a road with no traffic, and hit the gas a little bit too hard lol!!!
it only really gave me problems when I would powerbrake (i honestly dont do that anymore) the closest thing to powerbraking i do now is torque braking. now i just torque brake it, and take off from a red light like a bat out of hell!!! I can surprise even fast cars like that!!!!
its not powerbraking until your tranny goes into second and your speedo says 55!!!!
