okay i have 99 4x4 auto and i have a K&N intake and a dual flowmaster exhaust on my truck and new 3923 ap plugs and a brass cap and rotor on my truck so you know what i have to work with. now heres my ? i want to get a new TB either a fastman or a F&B and i want to know what the difference is between then. i thought i read a post by you a while back that you had dyno them. also do you have to mod the air hat with the F&B with a K&N intake. also i'm still in high school so money is a little consern but more hp and tq is what i would like to have.

any help would be nice thanks keith

If cash is a concern, get a V8 TB instead. As far as Fastman and F&B goes, the Fastman is basically a "used" TB (who knows how many miles is on it) thats been bored out BUT is a very good product. On the other hand, the F&B is brand new and you won't have to worry about any core returns. Performance? I have a Fastman and very happy with it. Performance isn't the 'big' issue, its all about taste and budget. Don't expect to get ridiculous gains over a Fastman if you get the more expensive F&B because you probably won't be able to tell a difference.

Maybe I can help. I have an F&B on my 99 3.9. The F&B is a
48mm throttle body. Our stock throttle bodies are 44-46mm I
believe. When I installed my F&B I noticed an IMMEDIATE
difference in acceleration when I first stepped on the pedal. I
have heard of people installing Fastman's which are 46mm from
what this one owner said and he couldn't tell any difference
when he bolted it on. This is not something that takes 200
miles for the computer to learn. The F&B is made from scratch
on a CNC machine from aluminum. The Fastman is an overhaul
of somebody else's throttle body. The F&B will cost you a bit
more.

I agree its a matter of taste

The V8 swap is ok and a cheap way to go with mid
and top gains

The fastman and F&B are both a better way to go
they offer gains from off idle to redline.

The F&B on dyno runs always showed a little more
torque around 10 foot pounds and also seamed to
have a little better response.

The F&B is for the entusiast who wants the most
and best they can get, machined from a solid
chunk of Alm. finished with a clear anodized coat
so they look good for a long time.

When Bruce Bridges designed the 48mm it was
desined and flow tested for max performance on a
V6 magnum motor, it is the best out there in my
opinion and what I run

just another note, on what NotLarry said about the fastman tb. it may be a 'used' throttle body, but there wouldnt be anything on it that could be worn out. the only thing he uses the stock tb casting for is to bore it out, he replaces the throttle pedals and everything in the throttle body, plus you use the sensors off of your existing tb, so he's really giving you a brand new product. i've got a fastman tb on my 02 3.9 and love it, really great mod.

thanks for the info i think i go for the fastman just don't have $350 for an f&b and aslo don't want to change the tb cable.

The Fastman bodies are completly rebuilt new shaft
bearings and seals, new throttle plates and screws
bored to 46mm. The Fastman Dan knows what hes doing

They are great and I ran one for years, over a V8
swap and loved it.

Either the Fastman or F&B can be set up so you
don't need to change the cable

Just call or send a pic of your currant linkage
and they will install what you need on the body
