Subject: Engine Bogging Down IP: Logged
Message: Hi everyone, I'm new to the board and already need your help.
I have a 2000 Dakota 4WD 3.9 Auto. When I'm going down the road between 65 & 70 (or so), and accelerate to pick up some speed, my engine starts to pick up but then it bogs down and goes nowhere. If I kick it into passing gear, it still bogs down but slowly picks up speed.
To me it acts like it's starving for air or gas. Any ideas or comments what the problem might be?
Thanks
Mike

Message: Have you checked the air filter??? Run any high amounts of fuel system cleaners through it??? Had the battery disconnected lately??? Oil situation??? Drivetrain components functioning right??? Any of these could add up to your problem... Might want to check into some of them and see if it doesn't help a little...
