Message: pinion gear wont matter.
Your truck should have the speedometer in the tailshaft of the tranny. You can change the speedo gear for different tire size or ring gear.
BUT!
just because you have different sized wheels doesnt mean its gonna be that far off.
what was the stock tire size on your truck and what size tires do you have now?
6.6 Lt. Big Block, 727 TF shift kit, 452 heads, edelbrock 750 cfm, .513/.513 284/300 crower cam, comp cams springs, comp cams pushrods, 1.5 roller rockers, dp intake, mopar ignition, mopar windage tray, dual exhaust w/ 40 series flowmasters, 4.10 gears, coilover drag suspension, approx, 3500 lbs

Message: It had P215/15/75R on 15inch rims. The P255/17/75R on the 17 inch rims. This is from memory and I know the numbers are not right on.

Message: Thats a pretty sexy change there Jim. You got some of your tire size numbers backwards sparky. your 215 and 255 is the distance across the tread of the tire / the 75 is the hight ratio than the 15R and 17R is the Rim size. Sorry, small pet peve.

Message: Just REMEMBER - It is the
Total tire Diameter which determines
any speed diff.
NOT the rim size...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Message: Look on the tail shaft the 93 should still have a
cable drive,
You need to change the gear and reindex the gear
hub (housing) if you look there are little tabs
the hold down actualy needs to be in there are
usualy like 3 or 4 positions the hub is machined
off center to adjust for diff gear sizes
The diff size and tooth # gears can be bought at
any dealer around $10
First check overall dia of tires my stock were
27" tall the coopers I have on now are 29" and
my speedo is 2 mph off but I know that and it
don't effect anything.
I have a sensor on 95 and would require either a
dealer flash to change or buy an expensive
calibrator, for 2 mph not worth it
