Message: My 3.9 sounds like a flock of birds on cold starts. Just broke 50k miles on my 99. Anyone
had this problem. Also ready for front pads.
Dustless (tired of cleaning wheels every 3 or 4 days). Raybestos or Ceramix what do you think.

Message: It might be your serpentine belt. I waited till about 80K miles with that noise when it was cold...changed the belt and all was quiet. Good Luck!!

Message: I have a 99 that makes the same noise it gets better when the engine warms up I hope its just the belt. Also I put the dustless Raybestos Pads on my Grand Prix GTP they aren't too bad I Still get dust and they still make noise not as bad as semi metallic though.

Message: Could be the tensioner. Had mine replaced at 50000km be cause it seized up. At your mileages I agree with Pyrodak it's probably your belt, Thats when I had mine replaced.

Message: I seem to have a clattering in my engine when the engine is idling. Mechanic said it could be the tensioner, another said it's the lifters. Anyone have this problem?
