Subject: Spark plugs in a jam IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone have any ideas on how to free up stuck spark plugs? My #4, #6 plugs seem to be frozen into the head........HELP

Message: Try removing the spark plug with the motor warm and tap your rachet handle gently with a hammer, should come out then.

Message: Doesn't running your engine heat the metal causing it to
expand? Wouldn't this make it even harder to loosen
something? Just wondering here. I'd use penetratring oil on it.
Let it soak in for awhile.

Message: he is right, run it and then tap on the ratchet, that should help, and the expansion of the block is what the heat is for....not sure why heating stuff works but it does the trick. good luck

Message: My 94 3.9 had that problem.Mine has a steel cylinder around the plugs I kept loading the recess with liquid wrench oil once plug loosens dont keep turning to loosen keep tighten and loosen a faction of a turn at a time by having paintence it should work out Use an anti seize compound on new plugs
