Subject: Help getting fan off!!? IP: Logged
Message: I need to get my clutch type fan off to put on electric unit.
I cant get the pully to stay still enough to get that big damn nut to turn.
Anybody have a good backyard solution for this?
Thanks.
PS: I tried the old Vise Grips and plumbers pipe wrench. Only thing happened was I bent the pully and the conduit breaker bar I was using!!

Message: Hey,
I used a craftsman strap wrench on the pulley.

Message: Like I was saying....I removed the serpentine belt and used the strap wrench to hold the pulley in place while I turned the nut. But that MOFO was on TIGHT!! So good luck.
