Message: I have a 94 3.9 2wd Dakota and I just had my tranny rebuilt...and i am about to change fluid and fitler because of the many metal shavings were in there tro begin with...i will flush the system...and was wondering while i have it on the lift to put a shift kit in it...I keep hearing about the TransGO and I want to know where i can find this , how much it costs, and will it take awhile?

Yes right number
This kit covers all the A-500 and A-518 they have
basicly the same valve bodies the diff is in the
clutch size
A-500 6" like old 904
A-518 8" like old 727

Message: I have about $130 to blow...so i guess ill be
talking to them...btw my tranny rebuilder said a
shift kit would not improve anything on this
tranny but MAYBE th longevity!...is this really
true or will the shift kit actually shift quicker?

Message: firmer shift means faster
the gears will enguage faster with less slipage
and heat build up
won't change shift rpm
from slow smoth shift to quick snappy shift

Message: tazzy that looks like what i have, except the round gasket(s) ( transgo tfod-hd2 500 and 518 series 2r)
I'm too intamidated to try to put it in myself, way too many parts ant my dak is my daily driver....
i'm going to call around monday to see who will do if the cheapest. do you think the dealer would do it?? did you put yours in?? how does it work?? i really want firmer shifting into all gears (and converter lockup) I have played with the tv cable, but it only firms up 1st and 2nd... i just wish it would hold 3rd a little longer under normal accelleration.... and chirp 2nd (in my dreams lol)
