Message: sounds like the iac (idle air control) valve its under the air hat in the throttle body, it likely needs cleaning. I clean mine usualy 2 times a year
I just clean it the half a$$ way by turning the truck on and spraying carb cleaner in it a few times (the truck will threaten to stall so sprey it in short bursts)
you are really supposed to completely remove the iac motor but to easily do that you must remve the throttle body. Oh yeah the iac is closest to the firewall on the throttle body, is your truck an auto? if so does it sometimes stall or threaten to stall when putting it in gear? my (98 rc v6) does that when the iac gets dirty. Its embarassing at the gas station lol
Hope I helped
